It’s me Athena!
Through this incredible journey, I have learned that beauty is holistic. Beauty is not just on the surface but in the soul, mind and spirit. I believe that it is a state of mind… Every moment, every day and everywhere, which leads me to why I created this blog.
I have also learned to be critical of my own work, review it, test myself by overcoming my comfort zones, in order to follow my passions. My one big tips is to learn throughout the journey. You never fail. You discover yourself.
ATHENAS’SPOT.
This will cover my thoughts and opinions, it will be my signature and hotspot on beauty.
Beauty is holistic…Aristotle, the Greek philosopher used the term holism. ” A whole is greater than the sum of its individual parts”.
We cannot begin to understand the fullness of these ‘parts’ unless they are in complete harmony.
In this, I truly believe and will share my intense love and passion for this topic.
The word beauty/beautiful in Greek means the one who shines.
Etymology <*glory “sparkle”.
FOLLOW MY WHY…
Follow me on this beautiful journey and let’s shine together. Let’s be beautiful every day. I would be delighted to share with you all my knowledge, thoughts and moments.
Let’s be inspired, share, care, speak, research, review, comment and sparkle. Let’s get closer even if we live hundreds of miles apart…
And always keep this in mind:
It is the journey that it counts.
Not the destination.
A Greek called Constantine Kavafis wrote a poem in 1911 explaining it.
It is called Ithaca. You may know it.
Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you are destined for.
But do not hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you are old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich.
Ithaka gave you the marvellous journey.
Without her, you would not have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.
And if you find her poor,
Ithaka won’t have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become,
so full of experience,
you will have understood by then
what these Ithakas mean.

Be yourself. Always be inspired. Have a safe journey.
Working as a journalist
I have always been a “people” person who wanted to research, interview and write. After finishing school, I followed my dream and I did a 4-year bachelor degree in Media and Communications in Greece. Then moved to the UK to do my Masters degree in Journalism and Media at the University of London.
For the last 15 years, I have worked as all kinds of “journalists”. Magazine, newspaper, freelancer, broadcaster, online and I keep going. Magazine editor of Cosmopolitan and Free, Radio Producer for NET 105.8. TV hostess for Channel 10, Sunny Channel and news reporter for SBC.
Lately, I am a beauty and wellness editor and I write articles about health, anti-aging, beauty, fashion and marriage! When my work gets published and distributed I feel as though there is an impact on the world. Positive Impact. And this is magic.
THE NEXT BIG THING…
Being a Mum
EVERYONE knows that mums are heroes, and it’s not a job where you can just clock off at the strike of five.
But it is a very exciting journey.
Ever since I became a mother, my life has changed completely. I feel more selfless, more responsible, and more sensitive as a human being.
Every day, I must be responsible for another human being who desperately needs me.
And that is the real challenge.
Well, I have been wondering… what is it that finally makes you a mum? Is it that unique feeling of being a loving and nurturing woman? Or that of becoming a source of inspiration?
There is immense joy in sharing your knowledge and guiding your little one through the paths of life, to love, learn, and explore life in a completely different way – through their tiny eyes.
Love without limits. Become a better person. Try to change, to improve yourself. Quit your bad habits, even your old self. Cultivate more empathy.
Empathy [from Greek empatheia (from em- ‘in’ + pathos ‘feeling’)].
The definition of “empathy” is the ability to understand and even share what other people may be feeling.
I don’t know if I’m doing this mum thing right.
What I do know is that I try to set the right examples for my daughter.
Show her the way of living truly. With no fears.
Teach her how to be free and dare to step outside her comfort zone.
I wish I can be with her, watching over her growing up, and standing by her when she needs me.
This is my other holistic journey as motherhood is not only one thing. It is your whole self…
